Honestly could have been for two with the way my stomach swelled up. Service was great but food was even better. Honest and down to earth family shop with some authentic bbq. While the food was great, the sausage was not to my personal preference, as I like a chunkier with a bite sausage. The sausage here was well emulsified and was very soft. Not that it was bad, but not how I'd make sausage personally. Would love to come again. ”

“ This what REAL Barbecue is supposed to be like. I have to be honest, there are so many barbecue restaurants in Houston. Some really good, some not great. The trend now seems to be toward big fancy restaurants, decorated with bull horns and wagon wheels. Growing up, the best barbecue spots were always fixtures of the community. You could go there and it was always buzzing with activity. Most importantly, it was affordable. Stepping into Guillory's, I felt that hometown feel. It's not fancy, it's not new but look around and you can see evidence of people who love what they do. This is what those wagon wheel places are trying to be. When you walk into this place you are hit with the smell of smokey meats. I absolutely hate walking into a restaurant and smelling nothing. I got the chicken, ribs, brisket and boudain. Brisket was fall apart tender with a nice smoky bark. Sides were all good. But I have to say, the price was nice. It wasn't cheap but reasonable for barbecue. I tried to order everything on the menu. When I was there, a family was eating with their children. The owner asked how'd they hear about them... They said from the reviews. Bottom line the reviews are true ”

I typically get the daily special which is ribs sausage and chicken with dirty rice and beans. I try to go at least a few times a month since it's close to my job. ”
